Life at UNLV: Something for Everyone

We don't separate life and education. At UNLV living is learning.

Welcome

Welcome to my site! I'm assistant professor of Sociology at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and am part of the Health for Nevada Initiative. I joined UNLV in January 2018 after obtaining my Ph.D. in Sociology at the University of Colorado Boulder in 2015 and completing a postdoctoral fellowship in the Carolina Population Center at the University of North Carolina – Chapel Hill.

I examine the consequences of social inequality, focusing on educational differentials in health. My research has been published in sociology, education, health, and demographic journals such as Journal of Health and Social Behavior, Social Science & Medicine, Demography, and The ANNALS of the American Academy of Political and Social Science. Please click on the menu subheadings for more information on my research and, teaching, or to download my CV. If you have questions, send me an email: elizabeth.lawrence@unlv.edu.
