My research in the many advantages of higher educational attainment  and my passion for sociology guide and motivate my approaches to teaching and mentoring. In the classroom, I support learning through engagement, critical thinking, and ongoing assessment. Yet, education is more than just the acquisition of academic knowledge and skills, and I purposefully support students’ growth and development through pedagogical practices and counseling, in and out of the classroom.
